The Bayani Fernando Flash Game By Rico, 9:09 am Tue Aug 11 2009 - Featured, Gaming - 3 Opinions Apparently in a bid to bolster his presidential aspirations for 2010, Bayani Fernando’s website has a Flash game that promises to let you “Be the MMDA Chairman!”. The game is very similar to Dance Dance Revolution, with the playing field divided into five columns, representing the four arrow keys and the spaceboard on your keyboard respectively. Hit the keys at the right time, as objects reach the bottom of the column, and you add to your “Gwapo Points” total. Get the timing wrong too many times, and its game over. A virtual Bayani pops up from time-to-time, sprouting passages that reveal how Fernando’s belief that a lot of Filipinos lack common sense (to translate one such passage: “We remove obstacles from sidewalks, so that people can walk on them. This is one way to reduce the traffic problem”. Duh!). So why should you play this game? Seems the top scorer will win an Asus Eee PC from “Team Bayani Online”! Here are the mechanics:
“Become Chairman Bayani Fernando’s protégé through this fun online game. Be the highest scorer by September 30, 2009 and win an Asus Eee PC Laptop from Team Bayani Online!” “In case of a tie, players will be asked to play a final showdown to determine the MMDA Chairman protégé winner.” “Please take note that you will only get a chance to submit your score and contact information if you get to finish the game. We recommend that you read the complete game instructions before playing.”
That prize alone is enough to make me want to play the game, and bear this totally ugly avatar appearing on bayanifernando.com’s Ask Bayani forums:
In any case, here are some screenshots of the game:
